The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) 2027/28 is now accepting global applications!
Established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong, the HKPFS aims to recruit the brightest students from around the world to pursue doctoral studies in Hong Kong's world top-ranked universities (including HKU, HKUST, CUHK, PolyU, CityU, and HKBU).
Fellowship Award & Inclusions:
- Annual Living Stipend: HK$337,200 (approx. $43,230 USD) per year for up to 3 years.
- Conference & Research Travel Grant: HK$14,000 (approx. $1,790 USD) annually for international academic symposia.
- Tuition Waivers & Subsidies: Participating universities often provide additional tuition waivers, entrance awards, and guaranteed university on-campus accommodation.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to exceptional candidates regardless of country of origin, prior work experience, or ethnic background.
- Seeking admission as a new full-time PhD student at one of the 8 participating universities in Hong Kong.
- Proven academic excellence, high research ability and potential, leadership and interpersonal skills.
